Attacks: man beaten in PMB

2008-06-02 00:00

A CITY family told last night of witnessing an attack on a foreign man in the downtown area of Pietermaritzburg — and showed pictures of the bloodied man. A young witness said she saw about 20 people beating the man with bottles, belts and sjamboks at the corner of Retief and Greyling streets yesterday afternoon. He was also stabbed several times.

A Netcare911 paramedic confirmed that the victim is not a South African, although his nationality is unknown. He was taken to Northdale Hospital in a serious condition. publishes all comments posted on articles provided that they adhere to our Comments Policy.
