SUSPENDED Mountain Rise police station commissioner Director Harriram Badul’s bail application was yesterday postponed to February 3, when he is expected to have recovered from chest surgery, which he is set to undergo this week.

He will undergo pre-operation procedures today, regional magistrate Chris van Vuuren was told by Badul’s attorney Petrus Coetzee yesterday.

When his bail application resumes Coetzee is expected to continue his cross-examination of Inspector Robin Mays, who is opposing the granting of bail for Badul.

Badul’s co-accused are due to appear in court today.

They are Senior Superintendent Yunus Khan, Captain Suresh Narainduth, Constable Patrick Nkabini, police station clerk Edward Isaac and local businessman Sigamoney Pillay.
