Bafana: training camp

THE 30-man Bafana Bafana squad for a domestic training camp in Durban from Friday to January 18 involving locally-based players will be announced in Johannesburg today when coach Carlos Alberto Parreira gets back from Brazil, writes MARC STRYDOM.

Mamelodi Sundowns are reported to have the most players who will be called, including Siboniso Gaxa, Matthew Booth, Luvhengo Mungomeni, Siyanda Xulu, Matthew Pattison, Franklin Cale and Katlego Mphela.

Other local-based players who did duty at the Confederations Cup in June, such as Siphiwe Tshabalala, Katlego Mphela and Teko Modise, are also sure to be included, while Kaizer Chiefs’ Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Platinum Stars defender Mbulelo Mabizela could also get the nod.
