Bafana’s journey to Afcon 2015 mapped out

JOHANNESBURG — A hectic three months awaits Bafana Bafana in the lead up to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers starting later this year with lots of games in a short period of time from September 5 to November 19, 2014.

According to the South African Football Association (Safa) website, South Africa’s journey to Morocco Afcon 2015 begins on the weekend of September 5 and 6 away to Sudan and then they host reigning champions Nigeria a few days later on Wednesday, September 10.

After a short break Bafana Bafana will be back on the road to take on the winner of the Namibia/Congo/Libya/Rwanda contest on the weekend of October 10 and 11, before returning home to face the same side on Wednesday, October 15.

The following month South Africa will welcome Sudan on the weekend of November 14 and 15 before ending their campaign in Nigeria on Wednesday, November 19.

The 30th edition of Afcon will be played from January 17 to February 8, 2015.

Oct 10 – 11, 2014: Winner of 5/6 vs South Africa

Oct 15, 2014: Nigeria vs Sudan

Oct 15, 2014: South Africa vs Winner of 5/6

Nov 14 – 15, 2014: Winner of 5/6 vs Nigeria

Nov 14 – 15, 2014: South Africa vs Sudan

Nov 19, 2014: Nigeria vs South Africa

Nov 19, 2014: Sudan vs Winner of 5/6.
