Bail: suspect needs to travel

2011-08-03 00:00

A WOMAN arrested for the possession of drugs at Underberg, has applied to the Himeville Magistrate’s court for her bail conditions to be adjusted as she wants to travel overseas.

Rowena Aldous (30) was arrested in July after a parcel delivered at the local post office — allegedly intended for her — allegedly contained drugs.

She appeared in court and was released on R500 bail.

The case has been adjourned for later this month for an application by Aldous to have her bail conditions relaxed as she is required to travel overseas for work purposes for one week.

The drug in question is crystal methamphetamine, known as tik in SA, and is used widely in the Western Cape. — WR.
