‘Bar One Manhunt’:Pmb hunk in top 3

PIETERMARITZBURG businessman Michael Graham has made it to the top three of SABC3’s reality show Bar One Manhunt and says he is very proud to be representing KwaZulu-Natal.

The finale of the show will be aired on SABC3 tomorrow.

Graham (27) said this has been an “awesome experience”.

“It has been a long journey so far, being in the top three and getting through so many obstacles along the way,” he said.

One of his biggest obstacles was seeing contestants he had grown close to leaving the show each episode. He described this as emotional.

“We are in an environment where we created such strong bonds and went through all these extreme challenges, and have formed bonds. All you can do is give him a hug and say goodbye.”

Graham was selected earlier this year with 25 other competitors to be part of the show and compete for more than R1 million in prizes.

He is going up against two other men he has become very close to, and believes that they deserve to be in the top three.

“The chaps I’m up against are honest true gentlemen. The person that wins deserves to win. We have been through amazing challenges together,” he said.

But if Graham does win the competition, he is planning to do something positive with some of the money.

He plans to donate R100 000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

His little cousin, who is one of his biggest supporters, is suffering from this disease, which causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs, digestive tract, and other areas of the body.

“The disease hasn’t stopped him from being a little kid. Every chance I get I try to get him on a bike or run around the bush, and just let him live his life as a kid.”

Graham has also received a lot of support from friends, family and even strangers.

“Thanks to my friends and family for all the support and all the kind words from strangers and friends, and for keeping me going.”
