Berea hosts SA’s church organists

The Southern African Church Organists Society (Sakov) will hold its annual general meeting tomorrow at St Thomas Anglican Church, 195 Musgrave Road, Berea.

According to John Mulhatton, SakoV’s KwaZulu-Natal representative, the event will be presented will be presented mostly in Afrikaans “but it is open to the general pipe organ loving public”.

Registration is from 7.30 to 8.30 am. Thereafter follow a number of talks and presentations ending at 2 pm. Entry is R120 for Sakov members and R150 for non-members.

The Sakov Bursary winner’s concert will be held on Friday evening at the same venue at 7 pm. Among those playing will be Christopher Cockburn, Marnus Greyling, Johan Swanepoel, Dietrich Johannes, Stefan Steyn, Brent Reynolds, Christopher Petrie, Hentus van Rooyen, and Louna Stofberg.
