A MIDDLE-AGED woman was arrested in Bhobhoyi yesterday afternoon and charged with dealing in dagga.

She was arrested after one of her dealers was caught during a stop-and-search operation by police officers from public order policing.

Police stopped a woman on the roadside and found a small parcel of dagga on her. She was questioned and then led them to the house where she had bought the dagga.

Police found a middle-aged woman in the house and questioned her about the allegations.

They smelt dagga in the house. A search turned up the first batch of dagga in a huge cooking pot hidden on top of a wardrobe.

Police searched the rest of the house and discovered three more containers with dagga hidden under blankets as well as R3 200 in cash.

The total weight of dagga seized was 35,8 kgs with an estimated street value of R48 000.

Both suspects have been charged with dealing in dagga and will appear in court today.
