Blitsbokke thrash France 31-7

HONG KONG — Seabelo Senatla scored twice as the Springbok Sevens opened their Hong Kong Sevens account with a 31-7 win over France yesterday.

According to the website, the only game on the first day of the three-day tournament for the Bokke meant little as they quickly established their superiority and struck when it counted.

Senatla started well, and with his first touch of the ball, pounced on a bit of hesitation from the French defender to round him for the opening try.

Big French unit Virimi Vakatawa broke through two tackles to even up the scores, but then the Blitsbokke steamed ahead and left the French in their wake.

Justin Geduld scored before half time, with Senatla adding his second just after the break. Cecil Afrika and Werner Kok sealed the win with tries as the Bokke moved past the first hurdle on their path.

The Blitsbokke will now face Spain and Australia on day two of the tournament to complete their pool play.
