‘Bloodsucker’: Police call for information

2010-12-20 00:00

POLICE are urging the community of Sacca informal settlement in Mkondeni to come forward with information that could help them arrest a man who allegedly shot and killed three men in the area on Thursday night before he went into hiding.

The man also wounded Thokozani Mkhize and sucked blood from his wound before embarking on his killing spree.

The Witness spoke to residents who said that ever since the killing spree they have not seen the killer and they suspect that he has run away.

Sources say people know the killer but are afraid to come forward with the information because they are terrified of him.

They say he is wanted for murders committed in France and Imbali.

Said a source: “The killer has been on the run because we are told that wherever he goes he kills people then flees the area. In July this year he cut an old man’s throat in this area, but he was only in jail for five days, then he was freed and we never heard anything about that incident.”

The same man is suspected of killing Dumisani Khumalo (44), Vusi Mngwenyama (35) and Mlondolozi Mbanjwa (19).

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joey Jeevan said police believe the murders are linked and are appealing to anyone with information that will assist investigations to call Lieutenant-Colonel Wondra Bezuidenhout at her office at 033 845 7722 or her cellphone at 082 411 6559.
