Blue Bulls: Saru pay tribute to crash victim van Vuuren

CAPE TOWN — The Blue Bulls Rugby Union has expressed its grief after promising under-21 forward Nico van Vuuren died at the weekend.

According to the Bulls’ website, Van Vuuren, who played hooker and prop, died in car accident in Komatipoort on Saturday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents, brother, family and friends,” it said.

SA Rugby yesterday also paid tribute to the youngster via their twitter account.

The 20-year-old was a member of the Blue Bulls’ squad in the Under-21 Currie Cup this year. He went to school in Nelspruit and represented the Pumas at Craven Week in 2009-10.
