Bodyboarders end season in challenging conditions

2010-11-16 00:00

BLOW Out Bodyboarding Club held their fifth and final contest for 2010 in challenging conditions at Uvongo Beach last Sunday. Despite a strong southeasterly and heavy rainfall, the contest drew a large field and riders were able to rack up some decent scores.

Standouts of the event were Michael Mynhardt, who was the first seed in both the juniors’ and boys’ divisions going into the finals, and Derek Footit, who convincingly secured both the Dropknee and Pro division titles.

The club will cap off a memorable year with their annual year-end prize-giving evening on November 26 when competitors will be rewarded for their performances in their respective divisions in the five contests held in 2010.
