Boiling water assault suspects to be in court

2011-11-15 00:00

TWO suspects, one of them a reservist, are expected to appear in Ramsgate court this week on charges of murder and attempted murder in Tin Town Gamalakhe last week.

A spokesperson for Margate police, Sergeant Phumzile Makaula, said the arrests on Thursday followed the murder of a man in Tin Town during a fight between two groups.

Two brothers, one of them a police reservist of Gamalakhe, were approached by two men when an argument developed. The brothers allegedly beat up two other and poured boiling water over them.

Makaula said the deceased and his friend were severely burned. The deceased died as a result of head injuries. The friend fled the scene. — Witness Reporter.
