BOLLYWOOD legend Rishi Kapoor will visit KwaZulu-Natal in September as part of the fourth Shared History — The Indian Experience Festival.

He will be discussing the Indian film genre in two “In Conversation” sessions in Durban on September 18 and Pietermaritzburg on September 19, before he heads to Johannesburg to take part in a film retrospective on September 20.

His visit to PMB has been organised by Dr Navin Dayanand of Daymed Private Hospital and Koushik Maharaj of Mediacomsa, and forms part of the city’s celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the arrival of Indians in SA.

The Shared History Festival gets under way tomorrow with the launch of the exhibition “Where The Streets Have No Name” , at the Durban Art Gallery. Festival-goers also have the chance to see Ronnie Govender’s At the Edge and Other Cato Manor Stories, starring Jailoshini Naidoo; the world music of Mrigya at the Durban City Hall; Swan Lake performed in Indian classical dance style at The Playhouse; and a performance by mandolin maestro U. Shrinivas with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, in the Durban City Hall.
