Bollywood star to wow KZN

BOLLYWOOD star, Shaan, is set to wow audiences in KwaZulu-Natal when he takes to the stage at the ICC Arena in Durban on December 5.

One of India’s most successful playback singers, he has provided vocals for the films Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi­, Jhankaar Beats, Lakshya, Dhoom, Fight Club, Fanaa, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Om Shanti Om.

As a singer he won the MTV Asia Music award for best solo album for Tanha Dil in 2000.

This was followed three years later by Aksar, which featured contributions from international stars such as Blue, Mel C and Samira Said.

Shaan, the son of the late music director Manas Mukherjee and the brother of singer Sagarika, has won a host of awards, including favourite host at the 2009 Star Voice of India contest, best playback singer in 2004 for Jhankaar Beats, in 2007 for his work on Fanaa, in 2008 for Sawariya at the Zee Cine awards and best male playback at the 2008 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards for Sawariya­.

He will be accompanied in Shaan Live In Concert by Javed Ali, who is the IIFA best male playback award winner for song of the year from Hritik­ Roshan­ and Aishwariya Rai’s film, Jodha Akbar­, and June Bannerjee­.
