TINSEL Town is abuzz with the news of producer Arbaaz Khan and director Abhinav Kashyap parting ways. Kashyap has given Bollywood one of the biggest blockbusters of 2010.

He made quite a directorial debut with Dabangg, but confirmed that he won’t be directing the sequel due to differences with the Khan brothers.

The latest news to come out of Tinsel Town is that Kashyap has accepted an offer from Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies to direct a film for his banner.

While Kashyap reportedly had a fallout with the Khan brothers, Shah Rukh Khan stepped in and asked him to direct an entertainer for him.

But rather than succumbing to the offer immediately, Kashyap, we hear, had opted to stick with Salman and Arbaaz for Dabangg 2 because he is attached to his debut film.

But Arbaaz did not offer Kashyap a decent paycheque and the rest is history. SRK’s Red Chillies was willing to shell out Rs 2-3 crores to Kashyap, ensuring that he opted for SRK’s film and leaving the Dabangg sequel to Arbaaz Khan to direct.

VETERAN villain Goga Kapoor, who started his acting career alongside Big B, died on March 3.

Seventy-year-old Goga’s health had taken a turn for the worse in the last few months and deteriorated till the end came.

Goga is known for having worked in a lot of films starring Amitabh Bachchan in the 1970s and 80s. His filmography includes movies like Zanjeer (1973), Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1978), Dostana (1980), Shaan (1980), Lawaris (1981), Coolie (1983), Mard (1985) and Toofan (1988).

Goga is still fondly remembered as Juhi Chawla’s stern, autocratic father in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. He is also remembered for his grey character as Dinkar Rao in Agneepath.

JUNIOR Bachchan will return to Bollywood cinema on April 1 with Game, which promises plenty of thrills and spills. It is believed that Abhishek Bachchan did some death-defying stunts without duplicates and cheap shots.

Co-producer Ritiesh Sidhwani confirmed that the film is along the lines of the Bond and Bourne series with a bit of evergreen Dev Anand’s classic Jewel Thief.

“Abhishek is the suave owner of a casino in Istanbul who dashes through Turkey, Greece, England, Thailand and India, leaving behind clues.”

The buzz is that Junior Bachchan has also shot a music video choreographed by Shimak Davar.

Bachchan also attempts some death-defying stunts in another film Player, which is the remake of The Italian Job.

IF superstar Rajini’s Enthiran — The Robot left fans with dropped jaws, wait for Rana, which promises a triple treat for Rajini fans.

The film will have the mega-star play a triple role as three brothers.

While Rekha, the ageing Bollywood diva, is said to have consented to play the lead role opposite the eldest Rajini, Vidya Balan has been roped in to play the lead to the second brother, while the sizzling Deepika Padukone has already been signed up to play the lead opposite the “youngest” Rajini.

Vidya couldn’t believe her ears when she heard the offer and immediately agreed to do the film.

The reason for the choice of actresses could be that all three are originally from the south and therefore will have no problem with dialogues.

The movie will be directed by KS Ravikumar.

At 61 Rajini is still giving stars like Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Surya and Ajith a run for their money.

THE buzz coming out of Kodumbakkum is that Rajini has decided to star in a sequel to his super-successful Enthiran — The Robot; news has come from Sun Pictures management that they are keen to make the sequel, for which Rajini had reportedly given his “full consent”.

Hansraj Saxena, the hyperactive CEO of Sun Pictures, has revealed that preparation work for the sequel has already begun. The record collection that Enthiran — The Robot raked in is said to be the highest ever to have come from a film in all the languages in India.

ACTOR Ajith played a triple role in director KS Ravikumar’s Varalaaru more than three years back. One of his roles was that of an elderly man. Ajith got under the skin of the character, as he did in the other two roles, and came out triumphant as the film recorded huge collections at the box-office.

In his forthcoming flick Mangkatha, which is his 50th and is being directed by Venkatprabhu, Ajith is said to have done the similar “old get-up” he donned in Varalaaru. Ajith took the role of an elderly man in his last film Asal, but it didn’t become as popular as the one in Varalaaru.

The buzz now is that Ajith’s particular role of an elderly man in Mangkatha might even overtake his own performance in Varalaaru, which would leave an everlasting impact on the audience.

BOLLYWOOD heart-throb Ranbir Kapoor’s ex-flame, Deepika Padukone, and his mother, Neetu Singh, never saw eye to eye. The buzz is that the latest girl in Ranbir’s life has already got Neetu’s thumbs-up.

Neetu Singh was very open about her dislike for Padukone and openly talked about it. She even referred to her as “just another girlfriend in Ranbir’s life”. She went on to say, “Both of them are very young. It’s a long way to go before marriage. No one knows what the future holds for them.” Even dad Rishi Kapoor reportedly was not happy with Ranbir’s choice.

But it seems Neetu Singh has finally found her perfect “bahu”. Though she did not reveal her name, she told her hairdresser that she approved of her son Ranbir Kapoor’s new girl.

The big question: Is it Katrina or Nargis?
