Boy airlifted after Sani pub tumble

2011-01-15 00:00

A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy was airlifted from Sani Top yesterday after suffering a head injury when he fell from a balcony at the “highest pub in Africa”.

Chris Botha of Netcare 911 said a helicopter was sent because road access is by 4x4 only and driving up would have taken too long.

The helicopter landed on the South African side of the border, and paramedics found the boy still in a stable condition. He was treated on scene and flown to a Pietermaritzburg hospital.

No further details of the circumstances of the accident or the child’s condition were available last night.
