KWAZULU-NATAL Premier Zweli Mkhize has announced that Durban has been selected to host the Brics Summit in March.

Mkhize was addressing 250 captains of industry at the annual KZN growth coalition business breakfast in Durban this week.

The Brics summit is the gathering of the heads of state of member countries Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Spokesperson for the Department of International Relations Clayson Monyela told The Mercury that the dates for the summit had not been finalised.

“We want to assure the president, Mr J.G. Zuma, that KZN will ensure that we host the most successful conference,” Mkhize said.
