Bulls: Hougaard could miss Super Rugby

2011-01-24 00:00

THE Bulls could be without Springbok scrumhalf Francois Hougaard and the Stormers are concerned they will be missing flyhalf Peter Grant for the start of the Super Rugby competition on February 18.

The Bulls confirmed at the weekend that Hougaard, who could be either at scrumhalf or on the wing for the Super 15, has a stress fracture in his foot.

Hougaard will be out of action for four weeks.

“Francois experienced some pain in his foot last Monday and it became worse later in the week. A scan revealed the fracture,” team doctor Org Strauss confirmed.

The franchise said Hougaard is in a race against time to be fit for their opening round of Super Rugby.
