Burnt victim: relatives sought

2010-11-08 00:00

POLICE are searching for relatives of a 70-year-old man whose burnt body was found in a house in Bishopstowe outside Pietermaritzburg on July 3.

Resident of Estingini area identified the man as Bongani Ntuli.

He is believed to be originally from Eswayimani near Wartburg.

It is alleged that he died after he fell asleep in his room and a candle fell and burnt the room.

Ntuli was believed to be a vagrant who was given accommodation by the family of the house.

He had informed the family that he had no relatives as they were killed in the riots in the Eswayimani area in Wartburg.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ntuli’s next of kin to contact Warrant Officer Deon du Plessis or Warrant Officer Nathan Khumalo on 033 390 3521 or 082 459 7639.
