Burry stander: taxi driver case postponed to may 17

THE case against a taxi driver accused of causing the death of cycling ace Burry Stander was postponed to May 17 for further investigation, court officials said yesterday.

Stander (25) died when he collided with a taxi while on a training ride near Shelly Beach on January 3. Njabulo Nyawose (24), the man who was allegedly behind the steering wheel, appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

He faces a charge of culpable homicide. Nyawose, from Gamalakhe Township, is currently out on warning.
