Busy weekend for KZN cricket leagues

2014-10-11 00:00

THE KZN Inland club cricket season features four Maritzburg Cricket Association Premier Division matches tomorrow.

In the top-tier MCA Premier Division 1, Masibemunye take on Zingari at Dalry Park while Standard tackle old rivals Varsity at Wanderers Club. In the second-tier MCA Premier Division 2, Young Natalians face Lancashire in Woodlands, and Maritzburg Cricket Club (MCC) are up against Cosmos CC at Linpark.

The other league, the KZNICU Premier League, is the stronger of the two leagues, with the better club players from the above teams, plus the KZN Inland provincial players, as well as promising schoolboy talent divided up. Maritzburg has three teams in Central, North and South, while the Northern Combined and Southern Combined teams also play.

There is also a stand-alone T20 league in which all eight MCA sides participate, beginning on October 26.
