CSA provincial: Abdulla stars as Inland dismiss wp

THE 29-year-old left-arm fast bowler Yusuf Abdulla took five for 33 to star in KZN Inland’s 82-run win over Western Province in the CSA Provincial One-Day Competition in Cape Town yesterday.

WP were dismissed for 155 in reply to Inland’s competitive 237 for eight. Lepono Ndhlovu top-scored for Inland with an 82 off 104 balls that contained 10 fours.

Openers Nic Hendrie (28) and Brad Moses (45) got Inland off to a 41-run start. Ndhlovu and Moses then put on 76 for the second wicket before the top scorer also featured in a 51-run fourth-wicket stand with Kyle Nipper (23).

In the three-day match that ended Saturday, Inland were beaten by 10 wickets.

Resuming Saturday’s final day 124 runs behind with nine second-innings wickets in hand, Inland were bowled out for 161, leaving the WP openers with little to do.

Hendrie’s 61 in two-and-a-half hours off 108 balls (six fours and two sixes) was Inland’s top score. WP opening bowler Beuran Hendricks’s six for 26 made for match figures of nine for 64.
