Camperdown: Two hurt in N3 truck accident

2011-06-29 00:00

A TRUCK driver and his passenger were injured when the truck overturned on the N3 near Camperdown yesterday afternoon.

ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said paramedics from Pietermaritzburg arrived at the scene to find the truck lying on its side in the median.

The driver and passenger lay a few meters away.

“The driver suffered serious injuries and needed advanced life support intervention to be performed,” he said.

Banks said both patients were stabilised at the scene and taken to Life Crompton Hospital for further medical care.

He said it is suspected that the driver lost control after the truck experienced a mechanical problem.
