THE four accused young men charged with attempted murder in connection with an attack on a school bus near Cedara last Friday, are expected to apply for bail in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court next Tuesday.
All four — Sanele Dlamini (19), Sibusiso Shelembe (19) and Lindokuhle Mtshali (19) as well as a 17-year-old youth — appeared in court briefly yesterday and were remanded in custody pending a formal bail hearing on April 23.
The state has said it is opposed to the accused being released on bail.
The accused were arrested after an incident in which pupils were attacked and stabbed on a bus outside the Sibongumbovo School at Cedara.
The pupils on the bus were from different schools.
