Christian men pack Greytown

2008-04-19 00:00

One of the biggest Christian conferences in the world starts in Greytown today with 40 000 men expected to attend.

Yesterday, there was a 30-km back-up in traffic as men from across the country and further afield arrived at the farm where the Mighty Man conference is being held.

The conference is exclusive to men, but does not exclude any religious denomination.

Angus Buchan, a KZN farmer and evangelist, had a vision over six years ago to mentor men, and decided to host a conference for men who are heads of their households and in need of support and direction.

The conference started with 240 men. Last year, 7 800 attended.

Buchan has covered all the costs. Participants paid R100 each towards field maintenance — where they will camp and where the conference is being held in the world’s biggest tent.
