College hockey factory produces more standouts

2011-10-25 00:00

THE hockey factory at Maritzburg College, under the tutelage of Mike Bechet, has two current members of the 2011 unbeaten hockey team and five recent old boys, who have been selected to attend a 32-man South African U21 training squad.

This event will take place at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria at the end of November.

The two players are Nicholas Berichon and Grant Glutz who were both members of the South African Schools’ team that were selected at Kearsney in July.

The five College old boys in the squad are Matthew Guise-Brown and Rene de la Peyre from Tukkies and Northern Gauteng respectively. Marc Fourie and Brad Logan from Stellenbosch and Western Province respectively and Andrew Manson from Durban and KZN Coastal.

This is another significant achievement for the top hockey school in the province.
