College hope to win last one

GLENWOOD and Maritzburg College will clash at College this morning with contrasting thoughts. It is College’s last match, Glenwood still have one more. But after last Saturday, the visitors will be the more apprehensive of the two.

College reversed their first loss against Pretoria BHS last weekend, while Glenwood lost against Affies, a team that they should have beaten. In addition, College had beaten Affies by six clear goals the week before. College will also be determined to finish their season with a win.

The only way College could lose their fourth match of the season is by being too complacent, but being their last match, this is very unlikely and they will hope to increase the winning margin from the first match. The last line of defence, KZN Coastal under-16 goalkeeper Michael Labuschagne could prevent College increasing their margin.

It should be a great game, with three SA under-18 players in the game — Daniel Sibbald from Glenwood and Lihle Mafilika in goal and Tim Guise-Brown from College.

However, there is plenty of talent in provincial players from the two sides to have some fabulous hockey.
