College routed by Glenwood

2015-01-27 00:00

GONE are the days of water polo being a fourth-term sport, as the weekend saw Glenwood take on College and Kearsney meet Hilton in the pool.

No doubt the water polo players were the envy of the cricketers as the mercury rose steadily higher, while the Midlands scorched under a merciless sun.

Glenwood 22 College 3

Glenwood took a firm grip on this game and were always on top. Playing at College, the hosts were surprised by Glenwood’s pace and had no answer to their swift passages of play.

Combined with their skill, Glenwood create numerous attacking opportunities and the scoreline could have been bigger had the Glenwood marksmen been on target. They missed an astounding 17 opportunities and still won with distance to spare.

It’s still early days for College, and they can only progress upwards and onwards. Glenwood’s top target finders were Dylan Cronje and Gabriel Stopford, the latter making his first team debut, who netted five times each.

Other Result: Hilton 7 Kearsney 10
