Comfortable win for College basketball team

2013-10-15 00:00

THERE were two low-scoring matches in this week’s basketball results. The third match was another good effort by Maritzburg College, who won comfortably against St Charles.

College dominated the first quarter, taking a 19-2 lead and it was always going to be difficult for St Charles to get back into the game. They made an attempt in the second quarter, marginally outscoring College, but at half time were still behind 35-17.

With Toza Sinela and Siko Buthelezi top-scoring with 15 and 14 points respectively, College pressed their advantage with some excellent basketball in the third quarter where they scored 22 points to eight by St Charles. College eventually won 83-45.

Northwood won by three points against Glenwood 49-46 and Michaelhouse won by four points against Kearsney, 40-36.
