Complaints over another heavy-duty truck on Bellevue street

2008-03-27 00:00

MORE complaints have emanated from Bellevue after yet another heavy-duty truck was reported to be parked there by its owner, inconveniencing his neighbours.

Residents of Morgan Road have complained about a horse and trailer parking on the road and blocking a driveway. Residents said the truck has been parked there for two weeks. At one stage the truck tractor was moved leaving the trailer behind.

The name Mancinza Investments CC is emblazoned on the cab and the trailer cover.

Repeated attempts to reach the owner were unsuccessful.

Early this month some Bellevue residents signed a petition complaining about another neighbour who parked his trucks outside his property.

They said the trucks made a noise when they were driven away at 5 am and on returning, and that the owner would also make repairs late into the night.

According to Msunduzi municipal bylaws, heavy vehicles are not allowed to park on residential roads between 5 pm and 5 am. Superintendent Deven Devar promised that the other truck owner had been given a week’s ultimatum to remove his trucks, failing which the trucks would be impounded.

Msunduzi municipal spokesman Lalloo Pabhoo said he was not aware of the truck at 22 Morgan Road.

“That has not been reported to me, but we will investigate it.”

He confirmed that parking in residential roads is unlawful according to municipal bylaws.

Regarding the initial trucks, Pabhoo said he thinks they have been removed by the owner.
