2011-08-24 00:00

THE Inkatha Freedom Party and the National Freedom Party reject violence and are committed to working towards attaining peace in KZN, the parties said in a joint statement yesterday.

The two held a meeting led by IFP acting national chairperson Dr Bhekisisa Mthethwa and NFP national working committee member Professor Nhlanhla Khubisa.

The meeting was “held in a conciliatory spirit and with a commitment to co-operation”.

Critical issues affecting both parties were discussed and it was decided to report back to the principals before a more comprehensive joint media statement is made.

Both parties expressed their desire to continue with bilateral discussions aimed at resolving differences, they said.
