THERE were only two KZN Inland Premier League club cricket matches played last weekend and the results were comprehensive victories for defending champions Standard and the resurgent Northern KZN Combined XI. At Settlers’ Park in Ladysmith, the Northern KZN Combined XI took advantage of a Lancashire attack that battled to find their line and length to score 251 for nine in their 50 overs. Shaun Fourie hit 47 and Imran Hoosen 36. There were a number of scores in the 20s to add to a wasteful 42 extras. Sashen Dorasamy (three for 29 in 10) and Vaughn Manuel (three for 36 in 10) were the pick of the Lancs attack.
