Congress of SA Trade Unions’ general secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi lambasted alliance defectors who have opted to contest the May 18 local government elections as independent candidates. Speaking during the sitting of the Cosatu KZN Provincial Shopsteward Council (PSSC) held at the Durban City Hall yesterday, Vavi also hit out at greed and individualism at the expense of the poor and the workers. The PSSC also deliberated on preparation for the May Day to be held on May 1.
