Counting Crows is coming to South Africa and will be joined by Cape Town-based trio Flat Stanley. The concert in Durban takes place at the ICC on June 8, and is presented by Big Concerts and East Coast Radio.

Flat Stanley has earned accolades for both its studio albums which have earned the band six top 10 radio hits, including three number one songs. The band’s latest single As I Am has not only charted at number one on radio, but has also just been licensed by South Africa’s biggest cable television station M-Net for use in one of its television promo spots.

This combination of show-stopping performances and beautifully crafted songs has seen Flat Stanley become one of South Africa’s premier melodic rock groups in the last five years.

The band’s hard work has seen it garnering a 2008 South African Music Award nomination for its second album Between 2WO Worlds.

Lead singer Andrew Mac comments: “We have had the good fortune of playing alongside some of the world’s finest bands over the course of the last few years, but the opportunity to share a stage with a band that has had such a profound influence on Flat Stanley is something really very special. The invitation to tour with the Counting Crows is an absolute honour and we couldn’t be more excited!”
