Couple attacked at Camperdown

2013-10-08 00:00

FOUR men will appear in court shortly for the armed robbery of an elderly couple in Camperdown at the weekend.

The police said the couple were attacked in the early afternoon after the husband found his screaming wife trying to prevent a group of men from entering their house. The men overpowered her and entered the home. One produced a knife and instructed the couple to lie on the floor. A struggle ensued during which one of the men stabbed the husband three times in the upper body.

The men then ransacked the house and took a computer monitor, a PVR decoder and a cellphone, and fled into nearby bush. Police later found the four men hiding in bushes behind the house with the stolen goods. They are expected to appear in the Camperdown Magistrate’s Court shortly.
