Crash: Driver in runner’s death still in hospital

2013-02-14 00:00

THE driver of the vehicle that hit and killed accountant and runner Neil Robinson over the weekend is still in hospital, police spokesperson Lieutenant Joey Jeevan said yesterday. He is in a stable condition.

“Upon completion of the investigation, the docket would be forwarded to the senior public prosecutor for a decision on whether to prosecute,” Jeevan said.

Witnesses said the car was on the wrong side of the road, then swerved and hit Robinson, before demolishing two gates.

Robinson’s memorial service will be held at St John’s United Church in Jabu Ndlovu Street at 2.30 pm tomorrow.

Robinson was killed by the speeding car while jogging with his partner in Alexandra Road Extension on Saturday morning.

He was a member of the Carbineers Athletics Club and a keen cricketer and bowler.
