A MOTORCYCLIST broke his leg after his bike collided with a car on Mayor’s Walk yesterday morning.

ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks told The Witness the driver of the car was unhurt, while the biker was taken to hospital with a broken leg. The accident, which caused a major gridlock in traffic coming into town from Mayor’s Walk, was reported to the Prestbury Police station.

According to police it is unclear who caused the accident.

In another accident, a woman was seriously injured when she lost control of her car and rolled on the N3 near Liberty Midlands Mall.

Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said that according to reports, the car crashed through the barriers on the road before overturning.

He said the woman was stabilised on the scene and taken to a local hospital.
