Teachers at a Durban school yesterday stumbled upon the charred remains of two men who were killed and then set alight in an empty building.
The bodies were found inside an old, empty cottage at the Ntuzuma Primary School property.
It is believed that the cottage was used to store broken chairs and tables.
Police said that the two males, aged between 20 and 22-years-old, were struck on the head with a blunt object before being set alight.
The gruesome discovery has shocked pupils and teachers at the school, and some of the pupils who saw the bodies were given counselling.
Siphiwe Zuma, a teacher at the school, said that the school gardener noticed one of the victim's legs sticking out of the cottage door, and this led her to the discovery of the burnt corpses.
A Kwamashu police officer said the bodies have not been identified. She appealed for people with information to go to their nearest police station.
