A DURBAN biker is lucky to be alive after he lost control of his motorbike and fell 50 metres down a cliff yesterday.

Police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said the 30-year-old man slipped and fell over near Fisher Road in Inanda at about 9 am.

Netcare911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said paramedics and the police search and rescue unit rescued the man, raising him up the cliff in a Stokes rescue basket, before airlifting him to St Augustine’s Hospital in a critical condition.
