Crusaders lead by a slim margin

2012-11-28 00:00

DURBAN North club, Crusaders, lead the KZN Coastal Premier 50 League by the slenderest of margins at the halfway stage, just ahead of the chasing pack as the competition heads into the second round on Sunday.

Crusaders go into round two with 34 log points already in the bag and are closely followed by DHS Rhythm (33 points) and Chatsworth Sporting (32 points). The three frontrunners will be looking for big wins this weekend to create some daylight between them and their fellow title challengers.

After last weekend’s breather, KZN Inland’s club cricketers will be back in action on Sunday when another round of KFC Premier T20 matches take place. The matches were scheduled for Wanderers Club but had to be moved to Collegians Club after the Wanderers covers were stolen.

Sunday’s double header at Collegians sees hosts Zingari taking on Young Natalians at 9 am before Lancashire face Standard at 1.30 pm.

Last Sunday’s most exciting KZN Coastal Premier 50 match saw Topham edge out Pinetown by two runs.
