DA: Ashe’s successor

2011-05-04 00:00

THE Democratic Alliance is fielding a new candidate in Ward 36. He is Ludwig (Vic) Winterbach, who takes over from Rodger Ashe who, after serving three terms, decided not to stand again.

Ashe endorses Winterbach’s candidature, pledging his full support and confidence in him. As the chairperson of the Scottsville Residents’ Association, Winterbach has experience in residents’ and civic issues. He moved to Pietermaritzburg in the 1960s, and has been active in community service as a member of Rotary International and his church involvement. He has extensive experience in human resources, public financial and legal administration and student academic affairs.
