DA: award for PMB man

2012-11-26 00:00

THE DA national congress presented a posthumous Lifetime Contribution to Democracy Award to murdered Pietermaritzburg DA councillor Sibusiso Makhathini. There were emotional scenes at the congress when the award was presented to KZN party leader Sizwe Mchunu to take to Makhathini’s family, who live in Sweetwaters.

None of the KZN candidates who stood for election to positions made it. Mchunu said the candidates took losing in their stride as part of the democratic process. He added that accolades went to KZN’s Greg Krumbock and his team, who received a standing ovation for organising one of the best congresses the DA has held.
