2015-02-17 00:00

DHS pupils Tristan Wilson, Oliver Packham and Nikhil Mehta represented KZN at the recent Junior Surf Livesaving Championships at Winkelspruit Beach, doing themselves and their school proud.

The trio returned to Durban with a collection of medals and accolades to their names and as success breeds success, they are raring to go in future events on the lifesaving calendar.

Wilson bagged the Victor Ludorum for winning the Taplin relay and double ski, while he was second in the mixed double ski, ski relay and single ski.

Packham produced the goods in taking gold for the U17 junior male surf swim relay, adding silver medals in the junior male Mali board relay and the beach flags.

Not to be outdone, Mehta was awarded gold as the best U17 male competitor of the championships to add to his gold medals achieved in the junior male surf swim relay and U17 male Mali. He took silver in the U17 surf swim, U17 ocean man and the tube rescue relay.
