DSTV: Drifta signal not available in PMB

2011-09-01 00:00

CONSUMERS considering purchasing DSTV’s Drifta mobile decoder should be aware that the mobile signal does not operate in Pietermaritzburg.

The device allows DSTV subscribers to watch the pay-to-view broadcast services channels on their cellphones, laptops, smartphones and tablets. There is no need to pair the mobile decoder with Wi-Fi as it connects directly to a PC via the USB ports.

However, the signal for the mobile decoder is limited to cities such as Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Rustenburg and Polokwane. DSTV’s PR and communications manager, Maiyo Simapungula, said she was not aware that the devices are sold in places that don’t have signal access.

“Staff at that store must explain to the customer that the device only operates in covered areas,” she said. For more information on the Drifta visit www.dstvmobile.com.
