DUT Durban holds concert to collect food for Somalis

2011-10-21 00:00

ART for Humanity, a non-profit organisation based at the Durban University of Technology (DUT), is hosting the Giving Back to Somalia benefit concert on the Durban City campus today from

noon to 3 pm, to launch a food donation programme.

The free concert will feature performances by Idol’s Leigh, Durban hip-hop pioneer DJ 2 da Xha and other talented DUT performers.

The food donation programme is aimed at encouraging students to donate a can of tinned food as part of the relief aid programme for Somalis.

Donations will be taken to the PMB-based Gift of the Givers who will transport the food to Somalia.

Although the concert is not officially open to the public, donors won’t be turned away.
