Dalton: stabbing mystery

2009-12-21 00:00

A DALTON family is trying to come to terms with the mysterious and sudden death of a father and husband who collapsed outside their front door after being stabbed.

According to a close source, Clive de Bruin (59) was with his family in their home in town around 6.30 pm when he went to put his vehicle away.

As he returned to the house, he was heard screaming for help. When his family went outside, they did not see an assailant.

The source said his wife and son, who watched him die, are not coping well.

The Witness understands that there have been two other murders in the area recently.

“I grew up in this area, but this area is gone,” said the source.

The Witness has learnt that De Bruin and his wife are unemployed, though police say he was a nursery owner.

Police urge anyone with information to contact the Dalton station commissioner, Captain Sithole Mkhize, at 033 501 1552 or 082 928 8031, or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
