Dan Carter loses bet, tweets picture

CAPE TOWN — All Blacks legend Dan Carter has gotten 2014 off to a rather “interesting” start after losing a bet.

The flyhalf tweeted and Instagramed a picture of himself on Wednesday: “Interesting way to start the new year … Got to love a clay bird shirt wearing a hideous pink onesie.”

After being asked whether he lost a bet, Carter replied: “Haha yes I did actually.”

Carter went on to Instagram and posted another picture on New Year’s Day of himself diving off what looks like a boat — while spilling his glass of rosé.

Carter (31) played his 100th Test for the All Blacks on last year’s end of year tour against England at Twickenham.

Carter will sit out the 2014 Super Rugby tournament to give the ankle he injured in that match a much-needed rest, but is expected to be back for the Rugby Championship.
