A GREYTOWN police constable who allegedly shot dead his ex-girlfriend and her mother on Monday remains in a critical condition in hospital, said police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane.

Meanwhile, the family of the two women killed are preparing for their funerals on Saturday at the Enhlalakahle new hall.

Dumisile Ntombela (27) and Thandi Ndlovu (63) were killed when Ntombela’s former boyfriend allegedly confronted them. Both women were shot and died on a dirt road near a high school. Zwane said the suspect is under police guard in hospital after he was found with gunshot wounds in his home.
