DURBAN chef Deena Naidoo, MasterChef South Africa 2012 winner, is the official chef for Reunion Island’s first Indian Arts Festival next week.

Starting Tuesday, the three-day festival will showcase world-renowned South African, Indian, Italian and U.S artists.

Other South African artists include dancer and choreographer Verushka Pather and talented singer Karthiegasen Pillay.

The festival is organised by Kala Bhaaskara, a classical Indian dance and music institute on the island.

International artists include Bombay Jayashree from India, an Oscar nominee in 2013 for the movie soundtrack of Life of Pi and U.S. musician Shankar Tucker, a YouTube sensation who has garnered over 15 million views in two years on his “ShrutiBox” online channel.

Several Reunion artists will also participate, collaborating with international groups.
